Vehicles for Change’s auto repair shop enters fleet partnership with Bon Secour

VFC and Bon Secour enter fleet maintenance partnership

Vehicles for Change and Bon Secour Community Services have entered into a fleet maintenance partnership.  It will serve both organizations in a multitude of ways. For Bon Secour, the organization will be able to have all of their vehicles serviced at VFC’s auto repair shop, Full Circle Service Center, for a very affordable price with a quick turnaround time. The contract marks the first major fleet maintenance partnership for Full Circle Service Center.

VFC’s automotive interns will benefit greatly as well.  Phil Holmes, the Center for Automotive Careers Director and initiator of the partnership explains, “The partnership is adding richness to our training because Bon Secour has vehicles ranging from cars to vans, to pickups to buses.” In addition, interns who are residents of West Baltimore will be able to take advantage of the wrap-around services Bon Secour offers, which includes case management, housing assistance and medical care among other resources. VFC will also look to their community service division for referral of men and women who could be trained at Full Circle.

The partnership is a great fit because the two organizations are comparable in their mission. Holmes explains the role of VFC saying, “Our principle goal is to make somebody economically viable and not just economically viable but able to support a family. They (Bon Secour) are complimentary in that they have a wider mix of services and supports.” VFC and Bon Secour are looking forward to a lengthy and fulfilling partnership, which will not only affect their organizations internally but, ultimately, the community at large.
